Alexandra Pretorius injured her knee again and will not be able to compete in the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, this was announced by the Canadian Olympic Committee on Sunday.
The 18-year-old, who tore her ACL last summer and didn't compete in the World Cup so far this season, suffered the injury during the final training camp of the team before Sochi.
"Despite all my hard work a recent event has resulted in a tragic re-injured knee which will not recover in time for Sochi. Although this is heartbreaking news I will be cheering on all Canadians and I look forward to having my chance at the next Winter Olympic Games", Pretorius is quoted on olympic.ca.
After the withdrawal of Pretorius, Canada will only be represented by Atsuko Tanaka and Taylor Henrich in the first ever ladies' ski jumping competition at Olympic Games.
