The organizers will not be able to complete the
reconstruction of the Letalnica ski flying hill,
the venue that has become the mecca of all ski flying
fans over the years. That's why they now submitted
a proposal to the FIS to carry out all three competitions
in March on the new HS 139, located right next to
the ski flying hill.
"It was planned to completely finish the reconstruction
by March 2014. But the start of the work was delayed
from May 2013 to late August due to various bureaucratic
problems and so it was simply not possible to meet
the deadline", Jelko Gros, chief of competition
in Planica, told FISskijumping.com
Today the proposal of the Slovenian organizers was
approved at the FIS committee meetings in Zurich
and so the three final competitions of the 2013/14
season will be held on the HS 139.
In addition, the final event of the Ladies' World
Cup will also be held on the large hill in Planica
on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014.
