This day has been long awaited by the French World
Championship gold winning squad: their big "home"
hill in Chaux-Neuve is now finally covered with
plastic and operational for summer ski jumping and
will complement the new cross-country stadium in
nearby Tuffes. Excellent training conditions for
the French athletes.
Now the team does not have to travel the long (about
250 km) way to Courchevel to get some more jumping
practice. "It's important to have a hill at
home where we can go everyday to train. It's really
good to have facilities like that in Franche-Comte
now", triple World Champion Jason Lamy Chappuis
says. He and his fellow teammates had the chance
to make the first jumps on the "brand-new"
summer hill on Wednesday and also the other French
athletes like Samuel Guy and Nicolas Martin are
using the hill today. Martin fully agreed with Lamy
Chappuis on the usefulness of the new summer jumping
facilities: "The hill in Chaux Neuve is perfect!
It's very intersting for us because we have now
a great training center with Premanon and Chauve
Neuve. For me it's awesome, I live only 20min away
from the hill. It's will be so easy to train from
now."
