The ladies trained on two different hills in Almaty,
Kazakhstan, on Friday. First on the HS 66, and later
two training rounds were held on the HS 106.
The longest jumps in the three rounds on the small
hill were shown by Japanese Yurina Yamada with 68.5
m, her teammate Sara Takanashi with 65.5 m and Katja
Pozun of Slovenia with also 65.5 m.
After the men's training on the large hill was completed,
the ladies then jumped two more rounds on the normal
hill, where also the two competitions on Saturday
and Sunday will be held.
Sara Takanashi, who dominated both competitions
last weekend in Nizhniy Tagil, was also the best
here. With 96.5 m and 98.5 m the 16-year-old posted
the longest jump in both rounds.
In the first round, Katja Pozun with 92.5 m and
Kaori Iwabuchi (JPN) with 95 m were closest to Takanashi.
In the second and final round of the first day in
Almaty, Atsuko Tanaka of Canada (95.5 m) and French
Julia Clair (96 m) came in second and third.
The first ladies' competition will start on Saturday
already at 8:00 am CET (trial round: 7:00 am CET).
