It has been a victory for Han Hendrik Piho at the
Estonian summer nationals in Otepa"a"
this past weekend! The youngest of the Piho brothers
distanced his fellow national team members clearly
and crossed the finish line a whopping 47 seconds
earlier than jumping winner Kristjan Ilves. Karl-August
Tirmaa came in third.
With 88,5 metres, 17-year old Ilves clearly set
the longest jump on Otepa"a"'s HS100 hill
and lead the starting field at the intermediate
point of the competition with a time advantage of
58 seconds on second-placed Karl-August Tirmaa who
jumped 83 metres (95,5p .). Future winner Han Hendrik
Piho ranked third after ski jumping with a try of
82,5 metres and a time disadvantage of also 58 seconds.
The rest of the eight starters in the senior class
followed with time behinds of up to 04:04.
In the race, Han Hendrik Piho worked his way to
the front by setting the fastest time of the day.
With 21:38 for the 10 kilometres of roller-skiing,
he switched places with Ilves who used 23:23 for
the same distance. Tirmaa followed 01:03 after the
winner, Kail Piho came in as fourth, 02:25 after
his brother Han Hendrik.
